Download iTunes 2 – The Fundamentals

A Look Back at the First Time that Download iTunes 2 was Released

When it comes to digital music software, probably nothing will beat the software first released by Apple which is called iTunes for iPod. However, in the early part of November in 2001, the company announced that a newer, better version of the digital music software will be available.

Naturally, if you have an already award-winning previous version, the newer version should be better. Fortunately, the reviews and the user feedback when iTunes 2 was released were positive. Although there were some glitches in the installation process in iTunes 2 for the Mac units running Mac OS X, Apple quickly released a newer version which is 2.0.1 to resolve the problem.

New and Improved Features for iTunes 2

To have a deeper understanding of why users needed to download iTunes 2, you should first have a quick glimpse at the features of the original iTunes. It is actually dubbed as the first-ever jukebox in digital mode – which made music-related applications and tasks a lot easier. With the first version of iTunes, users can easily rip MP3 files, store their music collection on their Mac units, create customized CD’s and a lot more.

Now, with the new iTunes 2, additional features like the ability to burn MP3 CD files are incorporated. Also, you can quickly choose your music library according to genre, artist or album. Another great feature for iTunes 2 is that when you get tired of hearing the songs on your music library, there are hundreds of Internet radio stations that you can tune in to. This feature is called the iTunes’ Radio Tuner.

System Requirements to Download iTunes 2

To take advantage of this newer and more improved version of iTunes, here are the system requirements. Your Apple system should have a built-in USB port. You should also have FireWire, and it you want to have audio CD burning capabilities, the system should support a CD-RW drive. If you have one which is built-in, it will automatically work with iTunes 2.

To better access iTunes 2, you can also install the iTunes Tool 2.0.2. This is a handy toolbar which will always be on top of your other application windows so that you can control the way that iTunes 2.0 plays your music library. Generally, the operating system which should be running in your computer is Mac OS X 10.1, 10.0 or you should have the Mac OS Classic installed.

As one online review indicated, the new iTunes 2 digital music software makes Apple live up to its name that you can rip, mix, and burn music using iTunes 2. There are now newer versions of iTunes but the iTunes 2 has paved the way towards the improvement of Apple’s outstanding digital music software.
